Outing

We had to go to a board of education of Sappro today to register Dyson to his elementary school. He will be attending to the school I graduated. There is Hokkaido University close by, and they have so many foreign students there, and I heard there are many foreign students going to this elementary school, because the university is in the area. It doesn't mean that Dyson will for sure have English speaking friends, it means Japanese kids there will have more understanding and experience with not Japanese kids.

And the board of education was located in down town, so we had fun walking there and back.

I can't put pictures wherever I want with this blog app, so all the pictures are at the end, but one of them, we could see the first floor from fifth floor, and Kai was so scared, funny scared, so June tried to look over or whatever, Kai freaked out and tried to stop her going so close to the glass wall ;)

And Dyson, he is apparently doing his platter pus eyes (?).

Icicles

We saw giant icicles.

Garbage day

So let me tell you about the garbage system in Japan; it's insane. Well to me anyway. Everyday is some kind of garbage day first of all, Tuesdays are burnable or more like things they are allowing us to burn and not producing too much air pollution(?), Wednesdays are garbage that they don't want to burn, like any plastic packagings. Thursdays are more like recyclable things, like pop bottles and jars, glass bottles. Fridays are same like Tuesdays, burnables. And every other Mondays are thicker paper garbage, like cardboard boxes and such. Isn't this just ridiculous to you? I mean, they don't have much land to just dump garbage out somewhere. I have two garbage cans in the kitchen; one is for burnable and the other is for not-burnable. And the soda bottles, its lid and the ring thingy that comes apart from the lid when you open the soda pop and label, they all have to come off in order for us to put them out on Thursday. You think, who would know, right? They would know who the garbage that were put un-properly belong to. It's scary. They put a sticker that asks you to take it back, like try again kinda. Haha. And we need certain bags to put burnable garbage in. If they are not in the certain ones, they won't take it. So this post was very educational, right?? ;);)

Here is the calendar that tells us the schedule.

And my burnable and un-burnable garbage cans.

School

Did I tell you that we try to have a school for Dyson on weekdays? Mrs. Bressler, his teacher in Utah, gave him all the notes and workbooks that he was working on at the school, so we are trying to keep up on that. And today, he wrote this journal. Theme: free :)

Funny kids

Yup they are my funny kids. They love treats(who doesn't?) so much. I love how they are not 'too' picky and love and appreciate everything.

1/28

Daniel made it home! Finally!! His plane left Seattle to SLC, right? And it got so much snow in SL, right? So SL airport was closed, right? So he had to go to Boise ID! And the airport was closed because it was Sunday, they didn't let people get off the plane. So Daniel was sitting in the plane in IDAHO. After a long time like FOUR hours, they finally figured a way to go back to SL or whatever. So he had to be in the last airplane almost as long as the one from Japan! That is just crazy. And another crazy thing is that he has to work the next day from 6am after he didn't go sleep til 11pm the night before.

So we finally got to talk to him around 2pm our time, 10pm ut time, then we headed over to the ENT again. And we went to a grocery store. I am so proud of my reusable TARGET bags!

I didn't realize how heavy groceries can get. The store is not far but still can't get too much, or else I can't carry home.

We came out of the grocery store, it was already dark. Dyson was a good helper carrying one of my target bags ;)

Sunny day

Since we got here, it had been snowing everyday, but the sun is out all day long today. It's crazy but we love it. We are waiting to hear from Daniel. We know he is in SL now, but we haven't heard from him yet. I heard that it got so much snow in UT! Stay warm :)

The last supper... For a little while

He is gonna go back to Utah for a little bit. so we went to have a big dinner at this Japanese restaurant. It was wonderful.

Dyson has been practicing his chopsticks.

He was very suspicious when the meal was brought, but he ate it all gone!

It was so much food for a little girl:)

Dano had sukiyaki.

My cute little family

This is what I had ;)

We will be apart for a little while, but we are so so glad that he came with us. It has been nice to have him.

Mall

We have a mall close by where we live. It's about 10min walk. It just harder and takes longer because of the bad road condition.

But once we get there, it's warm and fun; they even let you use their fancy carts.

We finally had McDonald for lunch ;) Their happy meal is almost $5. It was a pricy lunch:)

Snow fun

I'm not sure if you can see, but they went outside and played in the snow a little bit last night.

Dyson's igloo.

These are not very good pictures cause they were shot from our apartment which is on the third floor ;)
