I would like to share with you one of the things we do in Japan, especially the winter time.

They eat 'cuties' like crazy. ok. Cuties. Yes. you know those smaller oranges? We have a different kind of oranges than united states; I guess they are really close to clementines, but they are different in my opinion.

1. The peel is a lot thinner; so easy to peel that you can peel it all at once sometimes.

B. They are so sweet; there is NO sour/flavor-less one in this kind of orange. Every one is a good one.

These are the reasoning I can think of, and, well, I can only come up with two, but they are different and I miss eating it.

But you wouldn't believe how much they eat those though. They buy them in a case of course. and they are so cheap too.

{well, these are clementines, 'Cuties'.}

She loves it. Kai loves eating it too. Dyson? not so much but he eats it. Kai and June are my herbivore, and Dyson is my carnivore.

みかんが恋しくなるこのごろです。こちらにも一応クレメンタインって種類のみかんのようなのうってますけど、とにかくみかんに比べて高いし、すっぱかったり味なしだったりするし、当たり外れがあるんです。今はどうかわかりませんが、わたしの記憶から言うと、っていっても子供の頃の記憶ですけど、みかん一箱１０００円とか、特価。ま、とにかく大晦日にぐちってみました。

I hope you, yes YOU had a wonderful christmas. We had another great one. On eve we all went bowling as usual, and we went to Lafrontera after bowling as usual. I love this tradition. l.o.v.e. it. BUT I forgot to take my camera... so no pictures... What was I thinking??

and next morning, even though I had been telling the children that they are on the naughty list, Santa came to our house also. It was so hard when the christmas day falls on a Sunday though, specially when church starts at 9. but somehow we managed it ok.

みなさん、良いクリスマスを過ごされました？？わたしたちもなんとか楽しくばたばた過ごしました。日曜日にクリスマスってのはたいへんでしたけどね。なんてったって、教会が９時からだったのでね。イヴは恒例のボウリング、メキシカン料理、孫たちのイエス様降誕劇、プレゼント交換といつものを行いました。

Dyson was sick, so so sick a couple weeks ago. He kept throwing up and nobody/nothing could stop it. Yuck!
We went to see our usual doctor on 5th day him being sick, and were told that it looks like stomach virus, it will last 7 to 10 days...
So we waited hoping that he will get better soon.
On 10th day, again he couldn't keep the food he had, and I noticed its color was red-ish. We had to take him to primary childrens:(

And the next morning, he was a total different person! The iv helped a lot, and his stomach got some rest. Now he is dyson again. It just was a crazy thing.

先々週にだいくんが10日ほど食べ物を戻しっぱなしで、5日目にお医者さんにいったらウイルスですね。7日から10日でなくなるでしょう。とのことでして、元気になることを望みつつ待つこと10日。。。また戻してしまって。。。と気づくと、ちょっと血が混ざってるーーー。こりゃもう病院いくしかない！
点滴をしてもらってお腹を休めて、翌朝、だいくん、起きた途端にすんごい元気。点滴に感謝。血は吐きすぎて管に傷がついて混ざっていたんでしょう。ということでした。この10日間、すんごい痩せこけました。今ではもう元気満タンです。

On sunday, we had a halloween party at grandpa and grandmas' house. There were so many kinds of delicious and boo-tiful food. Kids played games and raced eating doughnuts. It was FUN-tastic.

We went to Dyson's school to watch him in a halloween parade. He couldn't wear his bumblebee mask because it wash't allowed... After the parade, he went to his classroom and had a little party with kids in his class.

学校でハロウィンパレードがあって、家族総出でみてきました。トランスフォーマーのバンボービーのマスクもありましたが、顔を覆うものがダメなので仮面なし。。パレード後に教室へいってちっさなぱーてーしてました。

rocking chair

I had been wanting to buy a rocking chair for June's room. I looked it up online. The prices were various, but that ones I was looking at weren't too painful, so I was thinking to get one maybe for christmas.

One Saturday, we checked so many yard sales(which we have so many going on where we live, YES! it's West Valley City!) to see if they had a mini rocking chair. Of course when you are looking for something particular, you don't find it.

another saturday we were on the way to a flag football game, That was when I spotted this cute chair! I got out of my boat, I mean truck, and I asked how much she wanted for the chair.

she said

"I'll take it!"

The temple ground

We went to the temple ground a couple weeks ago with cousins. We took a tour to the 26th floor with Sister Simmons(Mack's grandma) and had a lunch with grandma.

This temple replica was amazing! You can see everything in the temple.
I met a missionary from Japan, and it turned out that she was from one of the wards that I served on my mission. She was one of the YWs when I was in her ward, so it took me a while to figure out who she was...

Then we headed over to the church history museum, which was a lot of fun.

学校が始まる前の最後の週にいとこたちとテンプルグラウンドに行きました。チャーチオフィスの２６回の展望台へのぼりまして、ビジターセンターに行って、神殿の模型の詳細さに感動。もっとみたかったのですけども、また次回。
そんなしてるところ、にほんの国旗をつけたしまい宣教師発見。名札をみて声をかえてみました。っと気づけば、つくばワードのシスターいとう。びっくりの再会でした。つくばワードのみなさん、シスターいとうがんばってましたよー。
それから子供の教会歴史ミュージアムへ行っていろいろ学びました。ちゃんちゃん。

プリスクールとは違って、毎日です。

BEAR lake TRIP

We got to go to Bear Lake this summer.

The water was really high like I was hearing.

How high?

Like this high.

That's our camp over there, and this is water over here.

Crazy, huh?

It was nice though. We didn't have to hike for miles to get to the water through weeds.

The first two nights, we camped with Elly and Andy at Randezvous beach. Everybody else came up on Friday, and we stayed at one of those condos the rest of the trip.

Dyson tried the EZ ski.

So did Kai.

It was a whole lot of FUN.

今年のあすてるさんちのバケーションはベアレークでした。先々週末かな。最初の２晩はキャンプ。だんくんの妹ちゃん夫婦といっしょに。その後は、ほかの家族と合流しまして、コンドに宿泊。天気は良好。文句なしのバケーションでした。

今年は水がたくさんでして、キャンプ場から７０歩くらいでお水につけちゃいました。２年前は多分＞５００歩くらい。（？）

だいくんもかいくんも、イージースキーなるものに初挑戦。がんばりました。たのしかったようです。最初はかいくん、なきっぱなしだったけど。。。

今年の初めからまちに待ったベアレイクトリップ。随分長いこと待ったのにこんなにすんなりおわってしまうなんて惨すぎ。またすぐもどってくりゃいいっか。。

家族Tシャツをだんくんのおかあさんと妹がつくったのを着て集合写真です。孫は１２人。どんどんふえとります。孫たちの背中にはいとこ番号もついてます。

Dyson's tuesdy swimming lesson got canceled because of a storm, so we had a make up lesson today.

And OMG! Dyson loves it! Every time we go, we make a list of things he wants to accomplish, and he just does it. This is really good for him. He is getting comfortable in a water and getting around really well!

In the first lesson, he didn't wanna put his face in a water, he didn't wanna jump in a water, he clinged to the teacher and couldn't do what's asked.

Today he is opening his eyes under water, looking for 'a ring'.

He is definitely ready for the bear lake now!

Ok, i have to rumble a bit today about not-so-pleasant-experience I had yesterday.

I went to 'RxxxS' to get kelloggs cereals and others that were on sale this week. In their ad, it says that if you buy 10 kelloggs and keeblers featured items, they will instantly take $5 off. You can choose any 10 items from either 4 for $7 item groups or 5 for $10 item groups(these are different stuff; like fruit loops were one of 4 for $7 items, and Special K was one of the 5 for $10 items).

So anyway I grabbed 3 special K cereal boxes, 3 fruit loops, 3 graham crackers, and 1 box of fruit snacks.
3 fruit loops, 3 Graham crackers, 1 fruit snacks(1.75 each x7) = $12.25
3 special K = $6
So total 18.25
I have 10 featured items = $5 off
I also had 3 coupons I could use = $4.25 off

I should only pay $9, right?

I went through the register and didn't realize how much I paid because I had bananas and stuff too, and I went out to the parking lot and

'WAIT A MINUTE'

I looked my receipt and yes I paid $5 more than I figured how much I thought I would pay...

Hmmmmm....

So I went back inside and asked the cashier to explain how this whole thing should work, and she didn't really know what's what, so she got me the store manager. Then the manager informed me that i have to buy 10 featured items to get 4 for $7 or 5 for $10 deal.....

??

It doesn't say anything that I have to buy 10 items to get that deal anywhere in their ad. It SAYS you have to buy 10 items to get $5 off, but that was it, It only says 4 for $7, and all others $2.25 In a small writing. Plus why would you even put '4 for $7' when you can't even get 4 boxes of cereal for $7, meaning if you buy less than 10; like 4, your price is 2.25 each. It's 4 for $9 instead of $4 for $7.

So I asked my money back for the whole thing I just bought and left the store feeling very discusted.

And today I called its office in downtown sl, and told him; whoever this was, what had happened to me.

After 10 minites of arguing,
(he was defending the whole time and said I'm the one got it wrong, and he even tried to correct me, agh!)

he says 'I can see how you got confused'

No no no no no, I didn't get confused, I understood what the ad says just fine '4 for $7'. Your ad is the one telling a lie/not telling the whole truth, which people call false advertisement.

And he apologized and even said that he is glad that I called and informed him what costomers think and feel, and he also said that he will try to avoid confusion like this in their ad in the future.

Ya right like he's gonna do something about it. I bet he was making fun of me right after the phone conversation was over.

(He said that he can't give me any costomer deal or anything because it's 'kelloggs/keeblers' event, not RxxxS's.)

This is what happened to me yesterday, and i just couldn't let it go. But Thank YOU for listening to my complains. I am a very grumpy person, I realized. But I just can't let certain things go, specially when it's stores bullying their costomers. Lol.

Dyson started his swimming lessons on monday.

his class has only 6 kids, but it seemed a little too many kids in a 30min. class. but i guess it's ok because all we want from it is Dyson getting comfortable in water.

and 2nd day, the class got canceled because of the storm...

He really liked it. He seemed having fun, so we'll see how he does today...

だいくん、プールに通い始めました。って言っても、２週間月火水木クラス。お水に慣れることが目標です。１日行って、次の日は雷でキャンセルになりました。今日、どうなることなやら行ってきまーす。

pioneer day 2011

for pioneer day this year, we went to grandpa and grandma house and had a sleep over with cousins. we put our tents up in the backyard.

we had some cake and ice cream for july birthdays. Boston is turning 2 on 31st, and his brother Zane turned 4 on 14th.

also Cooper turned 1 on 1st, David's birthday was on 3rd,

and the sunday was Sophie's birthday too.

juney celebrated their birthdays with an ice cream cone.

next day, grandpa and grandma had a surprise for kids...

it was a bounce water slide!

it was SO much fun. the weather wasn't quite perfect, I mean it was nice, not too hot... I guess it was ok, but a little bit of more sun would have been ideal, to me, anyway.

The weather has been crazy this year, don't you think? It was so cold and snowing in June, then it got so hot so soon; just like always, we were/still are worried about flooding. But this week it's been cooler like in 60s in the morning. Plus this summer is even humid a little bit. It's just weird.

Another thing that's weird is me noticing so much about the weather. I sure am getting old.

この人、こうやってお皿で遊ぶのがスキです。これもへんっちゃ～変ですが。

今年のユタの夏は、天気が変です。6月まで雪が降っていたかと思えば、ある日、急に真夏の日射し。ユタらしい気候っちゃーそのとおり、そしてそれが9月いっぱいまで続くのかと思いきや、今週は夜気温が70度以下に下がったりして、朝はエアコンがいらないくらい、というか、エアコンして涼しくしようとしている家内より外の方がすずしかったり。ワケがわからない。。電気代には助かりますけど。そしてバカみたいに暑いのよりはいいんですけど。

天気について考えてるワタシ、完全に歳とってきてますね。。

Of course we went out to Delle for camping for the forth of july. We love LOVE love camping. It is always so much fun.

and this time, Dyson made a big decision. I told you about taking off training wheels off of his bike, right? Yes! he did it again! He decided that he doesn't need his extra wheels on his motorcycle too! It was amazing! that boy is amazing. The first try, he just did it.

We came home and got cleaned, then we went to Simmons residence for a BBQ and fireworks. We had a goood time.

We have tomatoes, zucchinis, strawberries, pumpkins, and peas in our 'garden'.

I hope hope hope they will produce more than a few veges/fruits for us this year. it's so fun growing stuff and all, but it costs so much to buy plants first of all, and you have to wait to actually eat the veges... what are we doing??

we had our very first pick: 'A' CHERRY TOMATO

NOW look at us, we are complaining it's TOO HOT. We can never be satisfied.

so almost everyday we are playing with water to cool down a little.

ちょっと前まで、寒くて寒くて雪で雨で、早く夏にならないかなーとかなんとか文句いってたわけです。そして、あっつくなりはじめました。カンカン照りなあっつさ。そしたらそれはそれでこれまたあっついだのなんだのって文句。というわけで、外で水遊びしてるわけです。

So they have ice cream machine just like those fountain drink machine, it's a fountain ice cream :)

Monticello/Moab trip

Daniel had a motorcycle race down in Monticello last weekend. It was little far, but I hadn't been there before and had been wanting to go there so we decided to go.

We didn't leave our house til 2 or 3, so when we got there, it was close to 11pm. (with kids and everything, we had to make more than a stop, right?)

The night was okay. we brought enough blankets that we could snuggle in.

The next morning David joined us, and the race started at noon.

It was a beautiful day. Yes, it was hot, but not too hot, but it sure was windy. Constant wind and heat can make people so tired.

We stopped at the Monticello Temple and snapped some pictures. It was so little, yet beautiful. Can you tell we are so filthy?!

We stayed in Moab the next night at a camp ground. The city looked so much fun. We didn't explore, I mean we couldn't, with us being so tired. Maybe next time.

we had a dinner and played in a pool.

and the night was so HOT that I couldn't get much sleep. it's just a part of camping. I still love it.

memorial day wkend camp out

We went camping to Delle over memorial weekend.

it was pretty chilly the whole time. we had to wear jackets and stuff, but it didn't rain: that was good.

look at this funny boy, standing on a hill by himself.

Nobody was there: the whole place just for us. It was nice.

next morning we decided to exploring the deseret. Dyson was on his bike, rest of us was on a golf cart. and guess what? We got stuck. Daniel had to pull and push and everything else to get us out of the nasty mud. While we were waiting, our face got sunburn...

we are back! Dyson needed a drink so bad.

メモリアルでいの週末にキャンプに行ってきました。雨は降らなかったけど、寒目でして、長袖長ズボン。でも天気は意外によかったのでらっきー。次の日、だいくんはだいくんのバイクで、その他の人たちはゴルフカートでちょっと探検しに。行ったわけですが、

みごとにはまってしまったわけです。

どろどろからぬけだすのに２時間かかりました。

その間にみんな顔だけ日焼け。けっこう日焼け。。はずかしいくらい日焼け。。。

やっと戻ってきました。

But it sounds rediculous, doesn't it? 'world wide knit in public day'. Who gets to decide that kinda stuff anyway.

Grandma

We had to run up to the u again; it seems we are doing this often, so we made a couple more stops.

We visited grandma's work.

Yes, she works at the church office.

She showed us around.

I had neverbeen there before. I can tell it's not a new building but it was very clean and neat and beautiful.

And ofcourse we went up to the 26th floor.

A'mazing.

And we went to here she works.

"we went waaaaay up there."

She went back to work.

It was super fun. Thank you grandma :)

Then we headed to gateway.

It sure was another fun day.

今日、またユタ大に用事がありました。せっかくなので、このチャンスを生かしてですね、ところどころに寄り道したわけだ。まず、おばあちゃんちの職場。いろいろ見せてもらいました。26階の展望台的なとことか。ほんでもってこれまた近くのモールの噴水広場みたいとこ。行ってきましたワケでした。

たのしそうにしてました。
見ているこちらは大爆笑。なんでって、観察力の強い5歳児だいくん、ニワトリみたいにはしってた。

これかきながらも、にやっとしてしまうほどおかしかったんです。

このおかしさ、みなさんに伝えられなくて残念でしょうがありません。。

Today was the last day for the school that dyson will be attending this fall, so we went to school to find out whether he is in a morning class or an afternoon class,

and it was morning. Yay.

We walked there. Kai rode his new bike, Dyson got his scooter, I pushed juney in the storoller.

学校まで散歩して、9月からはじまるだいくんのキンダーガーデンが朝クラスか昼からのクラスかみてきました。
ほいで朝でした。ワードで知ってる子が5人くらい同じクラスでした。みんな女のコですけど。

We had a chance to go up to the U today, so we went for a walk down to union and had some french fries and then headed to the bookstore. It was a pretty long walk. It's about time to get out of house right?

今日はユタ大まで行くことになりまして、せっかくっつんで、キャンパスの中で散歩にいきました。
ユニオンびるでぃんぐのカフェテリアへいってポテトを食べて、次はブックストアへ行ってぷらぷらして、帰路についたんですけど、ぼっちゃんたち、疲れただの、喉乾いただの言っとりましたわ。久しぶりの太陽でしたとさ。

He is officially FIVE!

Two birthdays in one day. Just exausing. Jk. It's just so much fun.

We went to a movie, watched Kanfu panda 2.

And after the movie 'of course' we were at chuch e cheese playing fun games before you know it.

I took more pictures, but this is all I got on my phone. More coming, may be.

It was such a fun fun day.

ついにやってきた5月26日。朝起きてプレゼント開けて、朝ご飯にケーキ食べて、映画に行って、チャッキーチーズに行って。。。ケーキはといいますと、だいくんは最近ハマってるドラえもん。かいくんはもちろんミッキーマウスということで準備をすすめ、材料を集め、いざ開始。
ドラえもん、なんとかできました。

ちょっと離れてみたらいいかな。

ですが、

みっきー、肌色を買うのを忘れていたのです。。。しかも黒の食紅もキれてしまいまして。。。

チョコレートフロスティングの上に白で書くことになってしまいました。。ゴメンちゃい、かいくん。
かいくんにとっちゃー、みっきーの形してりゃなんでもいけるんですけど、母親が、がっくりしとるわけです。だって、なんてステキでないケーキ。。。

来年はもっとしっかりがんばるどーーー！

We went to dyson's graduation this morning. The program was fun and cute.

Now he is ready for a kindergarten!

This is ms. Becky that dyson absolutely adore. She is an amazing teacher and a sweet lady. We are gonna miss her and his school friends.

The sl county library in magna moved to a new location on main st. so we went there today for the first time.

It was new (of course) and clean (of course). we liked it (who wouldn't??). Let's see how long it will last. Jk. Hopefully a long long time. ;)

I know I'm using my phone to take pictures, as in it doesn't focus sometimes like cameras, but she sure doesn't give me any second to take pictures. She wouldn't stay still at all.

She now has FIVE teeth.still no hair. Getting longer though.
